Daniela Ziegler

Daniela Ziegler ( born September 5, 1948 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German actress, musical performer and singer.

Life

After studying acting at the Drama School in Bochum she had engagements in Trier, at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, Staatstheater Hannover and the Hamburg Schauspielhaus. After six years of professional experience, she was trained in the musical specialist a few months in New York City.

Since 1979 she has worked freelance and had several engagements in Vienna, Frankfurt, Basel, Zurich, Hamburg and Berlin.

She was also known to TV audiences through their episode starring roles in A case for two and more Tatort episodes. She also starred in the series The dear relatives, Dr. Schwarz and Dr. Martin, Against the Wind, Unser Lehrer Doktor Specht, not least in The Prince and the girl. In other film and television productions, she was the female lead. As a singer she was known for her appearances in Hamburg Evita performance. Achievements came also as Norma Desmond in the Niederhausener performance of the musical Sunset Boulevard. In several German cities they toured with Chanson programs to Kurt Weill and Ralph Benatzky.

In 2004, she had in Cyril Tuschis film debut SommerHundeSöhne a guest appearance. Since December 2010 she has been seen in the lead role of Mother Superior in Sister Act Musical in Hamburg.

As part of its commitment to Sister Act Ziegler had on April 18, 2011 in the soap opera Hand aufs Herz a guest appearance.

From September 2012 until the end of April 2013 Daniela Ziegler played the lead role Kaiser mother Sophie von Habsburg-Lothringen in the musical Elisabeth at the Raimund Theater in Vienna.
