Daniele Massaro

Daniele Massaro (* May 23, 1961 in Monza ) is a former Italian footballer.

The Italian striker Daniele Massaro began his career in 1979 with his hometown club AC Monza Brianza. After his move to Fiorentina in 1981 appointed National trainer Enzo Bearzot the young attacker in the Italian national football team and in the squad for the World Cup in Spain in 1982, when Italy became World Champion. However, he did not play in this World Cup. In 1986 he moved from Florence to AC Milan. Here he played until 1995 with a one year break in 1988 when he was loaned to AS Roma. With Milan, he celebrated his greatest successes. He twice won the UEFA Champions League for the first time on 23 May 1990 in Vienna under the former title of European Champion Clubs' Cup. At the finals of the UEFA Champions League he scored on 18 May 1994 in Athens 4-0 against FC Barcelona, ​​the first two goals.

His great achievements in the 1993/94 season national team coach Arrigo Sacchi convinced, so he summoned him for the Football World Cup 1994 in the USA back in the national team. In this World Cup tournament, he became a surprise first-team regular and played as an attacking partner of Roberto Baggio in the final against Brazil, where Massaro missed his kick and Italy lost the final.
