Danielle Mitterrand

Danielle Émilienne Isabelle Mitterrand, born Gouze ( born October 29, 1924 in Verdun, Meuse, † November 22, 2011 in Paris) was a French resistance fighter and author and the wife of François Mitterrand, the French president the years 1981-1995 you. Life

Gouze came as a child of Antoine Gouze, a school principal, and Renée Flachot, a school teacher, to the world. At 17, she became involved in the Résistance, the French resistance movement against the occupation and the fascist collaborationist government. They learned François Mitterrand know. On October 28, 1944, she married him at City Hall, later they were married in the Church of Saint- Séverin in Paris. The couple had three children: Pascal, Jean -Christophe and Gilbert. With François Mitterrand she was married until his death on January 8, 1996.

On July 6, 1991, she fell at a charity tour in Iraq in a car bombing, but was unhurt.

Her sister Christine Gouze -renal was married to French actor and director Roger Hanin.
