Danielle Steel

Danielle Steel (actually Danielle Fernandes Schuelein - Steel; born August 14, 1947 in New York City ) is an American writer.

Life and work

She is the daughter of a Jewish- German father and a Portuguese mother, grew up as an only child in France and visited various European schools. In New York she made at a French-language high school in 1963 graduated; then she studied at the New York University ( completion 1967).

Direct her first novel ( "Farewell to St. Petersburg" ) in 1977 was a success and brought her international recognition and an international breakthrough. Since then she has written more than sixty novels that have made all the way to the top of the bestseller lists. With more than 530 million books sold Danielle Steel is one of the most successful in terms of sales figures writers worldwide.

The five times married Danielle Steel has today nine children and lives in San Francisco. Your son Nick Traina she has written a biography. Traina, a talented musician, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and died on 20 September 1997. He was a member of the band Link 80
