Dannenfels

Dannenfels is a municipality in the thunder mountain in Rhineland -Palatinate, located in Thunder Mountain. It belongs to the municipality Kirchheimbolanden. Dannenfels is a nationally recognized health resort.

Geography

To Dannenfels includes the residential places Basten house, Dannenfelser mill ( restaurant ) and house thunder mountain.

Climate

The annual rainfall is 808 mm. The deposits are located in the middle third of the detected values ​​in Germany. History

In 1331 Dannenfels was declared on the initiative of Count Philipp von Sponheim to the city. Even the son of the Earl moved but his residence to Kirchheim. 1393 inherited the Count Philipp I of Nassau -Saarbrücken rule Dannenfels. Therefore, the Nassauer lion is in the local coat of arms.

On June 11, 1922, Fritz Hess First Mayor of the municipality and thus the first Nazi Mayor of Germany.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was in 1925 awarded by the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and goes back to a seal from the year 1658.

Culture and sights

The Thunder Mountain House was built in 1825 as a schoolhouse. Since 1991 it is a museum and information center.

The Village Museum is housed in a timber-framed building erected in 1830. It shows agricultural and domestic appliances.

The "old Keschdebaam ", a 650 year old chestnut tree (Castanea sativa ), a natural monument. On 25 April 2012, the German Dendrologic and the Company Deutsches Arboretum voted them to the nationwide Champion Tree, 2012.

In Dannenfels is a primary school. She is also responsible for the surrounding communities Bennhausen, Jakobsweiler, Ruppertsecken and Marienthal.
