Danny Blind

Dirk Franciscus (Danny ) Blind ( born August 1, 1961 in Oost- Souburg ) is a former Dutch football player and current coach.

Career as a player

Blind played at right-back in the clubs RCS Oost- Souburg, Sparta Rotterdam and Ajax Amsterdam.

With Ajax Amsterdam he became Dutch champion five times, four times Dutch Cup winner and three Dutch Supercup winner 1986-1999. 1987, 1992 and 1995, won blind with Ajax in succession the European Cup Winners' Cup, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League. This blind is one of the few players who managed to win all three European Cups. In addition, he won with the club in 1995 the European Supercup and the Intercontinental Cup. In April 1986 Blind made ​​his debut in the Dutch national football team. Until his retirement from international football after the UEFA European Football Championship in 1996, he played a total of 42 matches. The only goal of his career he succeeded in December 1991 in the European Championship qualifier against Greece. Blind graduated as a player total of 51 European Cup games.

Career as a coach and official

Between 2005 and 2006 he was head coach of Ajax Amsterdam. From 2007 to 2008 Blind was technical director at his old club Sparta Rotterdam. In 2008 he returned to the new season back to Ajax, where he initially held the position of Technical Director. Since the 2009/10 season Danny Blind was then an assistant coach with the Dutch giants. He first worked under Martin Jol from 2010 to 2011, Frank de Boer. On 1 August 2012, he took over with Patrick Kluivert the post of assistant coach of the Dutch national team.
