Danny Boy et ses Penitents were a French rock and roll, twist and Beat lineup of the 1960s.

The singer Danny Boy whose real name was Claude Piron and was born on January 25, 1936 in Saint- Pierre -de- Cormeilles, France. The four accompanying musicians " Les Penitents " ( in German: " The Penitent " ) wore sackcloth with vermummtem face. Claude Piron can be regarded as the first French rock and roll singer. He began his career in 1956, shortly before Danyel Gérard. He has recorded under his real name until he 1960 the stage name " Danny Boy" grew his first records. His first successes were: "Un collier de tes bras ", " Un coup au coeur " (1961) and " Twistez " (1962).
