Danny Glover

Danny Glover livers ( born July 22, 1946 in San Francisco, California) is an American actor, film director, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, a political activist and singer. Glover was known primarily for his role as Sergeant Roger Murtaugh as a partner of Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapon films.

Life and career

Danny Glover studied at the San Francisco State University. He was a member of the revolutionary Black Panther Party in his youth. Since 1975 he is married to Asake Bomani, with whom he has a daughter. Through its operation the Black Actors Workshop at the American Conservatory Theater, he came to acting.

Glover is Chairman of the Trans- African Forum, an organization which has set itself the task of educating the public about the economic, political and moral ramifications of U.S. foreign policy and its impact on the African continent and the Caribbean and Latin American Afrikanertum. He is also a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF.

As a director, Glover joined with the short film Override ( 1994) on the Showtime TV channel in appearance.

Glover took part in 2008 in addition to other as a producer on the Palestinian feature film The salt of the sea.

In all the " Lethal Weapon" movies Uwe Friedrichsen was the German dubbing voice.

Political commitment

Glover stands up for the release of political prisoners of the Miami Five. He also serves on the advisory board of the South American news channel Telesur.
