Danny Groulx

Danny Groulx ( born June 23, 1981 in LaSalle, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender, who plays for the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League since July 2012.

Career

Groulx played during his junior first time for the Val- d'Or Quebec Major Junior Foreurs in the Hockey League, who had selected him in the QMJHL Entry Draft in 1997 in the first round in eleventh place. DC in his rookie year won the defender with the team the Coupe du Président. This caused the team took part also at the Memorial Cup, where the team but finished fourth and last place. In the following season Groulx went for the Foreurs on ice, however, was issued in December 1998 on a business transfer to the Acadie - Bathurst Titan league rivals. At the end of the season he has received numerous awards, including the Trophée Émile Bouchard as the best defenders and the Guy Lafleur Trophy as most valuable player in the league. In the subsequent Memorial Cup, also on the third attempt he could not win after a final defeat against the Kootenay Ice, he was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament with the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy and appointed to the All- Star team. At the end of his junior career Groulx was with 266 templates and 332 points scorer record holder in these categories among all QMJHL defenders.

Since Groulx Draft has always been ignored by the franchises of the National Hockey League NHL Entry, the Detroit Red Wings took the FreeAgent beginning of August 2002 under contract. In the following three years the Canadians for their farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins went on in the American Hockey League. There he could never connect to the achievements of his last season in the QMJHL and lapsed into mediocrity. This brought him in September 2008, after he became a free agent again for an invitation to training camp for the Chicago Blackhawks. Groulx was able to once again work out no place in the squad of the team and therefore spent the season in the farm team for the Rockford IceHogs. Once again, he improved his offensive game and introduced significant new records on the categories goals, assists and points. On 16 July 2009 he finally took the franchise of the San Jose Sharks for a year contract, where he plays for the AHL Worcester Sharks partners. In 2010 he joined Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL. After a year in Nizhny Novgorod, he was obliged to season 2011 /12 of HC Dinamo Minsk. After only four matches played, he joined in October 2011 for the Liga rivals HK Yugra Khanty-Mansiysk.
