Danny Kladis

Daniel " Danny" Kladis ( born February 10, 1917 in Crystal City, Missouri, USA, † April 26, 2009 in Joliet, Illinois ) was an American race car driver.

Career

Danny Kladis started at four races of the AAA National series, including twice in the 500 miles of Indianapolis. In 1946, he was disqualified because his car was towed. At its launch in 1954, he retired on lap 104 from a leak in the oil tank. He had previously taken the Bromme - Offenhauser by his compatriot Spider Webb in round 55. ( Change drivers were permitted at that time).

Since the Indy 500 from 1950 to 1960 belonged to the Drivers' World Championship, is also a Grand Prix start should be recorded for him.

At the time of his death at the age of 92 years he was the oldest participant at an Indy 500 race.
