Danny Stam

Danny Stam ( born June 25, 1972 in Zaandam ) is a Dutch sports director and former racing cyclist.

Cycling career

Danny Stam started his professional career, during which he was mainly active on the track, in 2000 when AXA Cycling Team. In the UCI Track World Championships 2004 he won together with his compatriot Robert Slippens the bronze medal in Madison. A year later, the two Vice World Champion in the same discipline as well as 2003 and 2006 European Championship runner- were; 2009 won Slippens and Stam bronze at the European Championships. Moreover, they were successful together with ten six-day race. Overall, Danny Stam played 116 Six Days, of which he won 16.

As of 2006, Stam went for the Dutch Continental Team Ubbink Syntec. In the following winter he went with Peter Schepenbank because Slippens who fell in the summer and a little later resigned as a racing driver. At the end of the winter season 2011/2012 Danny Stam announced his retirement from cycling. Since the beginning of the 2012 season, he is sports director of the women's cycling team AA Drink- leontien.nl.

Danny Stam is the son of four-time world champion stayer Cees Stam.
