Danny Szetela

Daniel Szetela ( born June 7, 1987 in Passaic, New Jersey) is an American football player with Polish ancestors.

Career

In the club

Danny Szetela was trained in Bradenton Football Academy, where he graduated in 2004. He then signed a contract with Major League Soccer. The Columbus Crew of Ohio secured the rights. His desire to play for his hometown club MetroStars remained unfulfilled.

In his first season, he completed eight games in the Regualer season and two in the play-offs. In the 2005 season he was often used and played himself into the starting eleven. A year later he was denied due to injuries only four games for the crew.

August 31, 2007 Szetala joined the Spanish side Racing Santander. His first game for the Spaniards, he made the Cup final on 14 November 2007 against FC Malaga. For an insert in a league game this never happened. End of January 2008 he was loaned to Brescia Calcio. In the Italian second division it was used several times and was even able to score his first goal in his career as a professional there. In the summer of 2008, the loan was extended by one year.

On July 13, 2009 Szetala returned to Spain. His contract was not renewed. He saw no option to continue his career in Europe and returned in 2009 back to the U.S.. Since then, he plays for DC United, the rights to him secured. After only four games in Major League Soccer, he was released on 20 March 2010.
