Dante Caputo

Dante Mario Caputo ( born November 25, 1943 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine politician.

Life

Dante Caputo studied in Boston and a doctorate in Paris. From 1968 to 1972 he was a lecturer in political sociology and public administration at universities in Buenos Aires. Since 1972, he dealt with issues of democratization and administrative reform and perceived also a consultant duties in France and the United States.

From 1983 to 1989 he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina and at the same time adviser to President Raúl Alfonsín. During his tenure, he was elected President of the 43rd UN General Assembly and took from 1988 to 1989 this office true. 1989 and 1997 he was also elected for a term of office as a deputy in the National Congress. In his first term he represented the Unión Cívica Radical, then the Frente País Solidario.

Dante Caputo is married and has three children.
