Dante Washington

Dante Deneen Washington ( born November 21, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA ) is a former American football player at the position of a striker. He is currently working at Ohio News Network ( ONN ) as a football commentator.

Career

Playing career

Washington began his career as a football player at Radford University in 1988 and played there until his departure in 1992. Only two years later, he came in 1994 to the Washington Warthogs in which he stood until 1996 under contract. One of his first professional assignments in the newly formed Major League Soccer ( MSL) he came in 1996 at Columbus Crew for which he completed just three games before he even transferred the same year to Texas to Dallas Burn. In the years 1996-2000 Washington ran 85 times for the Red-White- Blue, scoring 24 goals. In addition, he was with the team in 1997 American Cup winner.

After a draft in 2000, Washington came again to Columbus Crew for which he completed a total of 72 league games until his move to the Virginia Beach Mariners in 2003, while 28 times hit the target. In his time he spent 2003 to 2004 at the now defunct Virginia Beach Mariners in the second-class A-League, he scored 17 goals in 27 matches played.
