Dany Boon

Dany Boon, actually Daniel Hamidou ( born June 26, 1966 in Armentieres, Nord, France ) is a French comedian, actor and director.

Life

His father is of Algerian descent, his mother was a maid and worked in the gas station of their parents. Boon has two brothers. His stage name is based on the cartoon character Daniel Boone.

Boon was married from 1998 to 2002 with the actress and writer Judith Godrèche, with whom he has a son. In 2002, he converted to Judaism; In December 2003, he married the then 22 - year-old model Yael Harris. He has three children with her.

Career

He began his career as a comedian in Paris in 1989 with little public perceptions before he gave on the street or in small theaters, while he was still working full time as a draftsman in an animation studio. As of 1992, however, he was seen regularly with his sketches and cabaret programs on French television. In 1994 he also took on numerous film roles.
