DAPHNE

Daphne is a free emulator which supports a variety of laser disc games. Background is the preservation of these games, while maintaining a most faithful gaming experience.

The software is available for the operating systems Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and consists of a command line application ( the emulator Daphne itself) as well as the graphical user interface ( DaphneLoader ), which makes configuring and starting easier. Daphne is able to play the videos of the games. Either by playing MPEG video files on the computer, or through the activation of various laser disc players via the serial interface As with other video game consoles need DAPHNE ROMs in order to play the games can. These ROMs may come either from the original video game machines, or fans who have, for example, the ROM for most popular games, Dragon's Lair and Space Ace adapted to change the course of play, fix bugs or introduce remote sequences again.
