Darcy Hordichuk

Darcy Hordichuk ( born August 10, 1980 in Kamsack, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League since July 2011.

Career

Darcy Hordichuk was pulled in the sixth round to 180th place out of the Atlanta Thrashers in the NHL Entry Draft in 2000. Hordichuk played in recent years also for the Phoenix Coyotes and Florida Panthers, until he was transferred to the Nashville Predators for a fourth- round pick in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005. The Predators brought Hordichuk to Nashville because of his hard and very physical style of play. In the 2005/06 season he set several personal records on: in games played (74 ), goals ( 7), assists (6 ), points ( 13) and penalty minutes (163). Prior to joining the Nashville Predators, he scored at all just six points in 130 games. On 24 November 2006 against the Los Angeles Kings Hordichuk told very much, especially with his fists, this earned him 27 penalty minutes and a suspension of three games.

Hordichuk had at the Predators also have their own radio show, known as "The Darcy Hordichuk Show". On June 20, Hordichuks transfer rights have been transferred for a draft pick to the Carolina Hurricanes, but had to let him go to the Vancouver Canucks a few days later.

Beginning of October 2010 the Canucks traded him against Andrew Peters from the Florida Panthers. On 1 July 2011, he signed a contract for one year with the Edmonton Oilers.
