In Daresbury Daresbury is the laboratory that the CCLRC heard ( Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils ), since 2007 part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council. Here a large particle accelerator called synchrotron radiation source was operated, which was closed in 2008.
