Darin Olver

This Olver ( born March 5, 1985 in Burnaby, British Columbia) is a German - Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Polar Bears Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League since the 2011/12 season. His brother Mark is also hockey players.

Career

His first games played winger for the Northern Michigan University in the play mode of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. NHL Entry Draft 2004 Links shooter was finally selected as 36 in the second round by the New York Rangers for the first time put him at the end of the 2006/07 season with their farm team in Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League. But then moved Olver to Germany, where he ran aground in the 2007/ 08 season for the REV Bremerhaven. After good performances in Bremerhaven, the Canadian was finally obliged by the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga for the season 2008 /09. His contract was not extended to the end of the season.

Olver then moved to league rivals Augsburger Panther where he should experience a power explosion. In his second season with the Panthers Olver was unanimously awarded by a panel of experts appointed annually the Hockey News about the best center forward in the DEL and player of the year. Olver led not only the points balance of DEL with 70 points (23 goals), but also the presentation of statistics ( 47 assists). The year before he secured the award for " Newcomer of the Year ", as he more than quintupled its points balance from Straubing eleven points scorer.

In November 2010 he first appeared on the jersey of the German national team.

Since the season 2011/12 Olver is at the polar bear Berlin under contract.
