Reissues

The pieces of the EP were re-released several times. Hellspawn Records released in 2000 a CD version with different artwork under the title In the Sign ... which, in addition, the two Bathory cover Equimanthorn ( 3:21 ) and Call from the Grave ( 4:35 ) from In Conspiracy with Satan - A Tribute to Bathory (1998 ) contained. Furthermore, the EP was released as a split CD with Blackmoons later band Infernal on Hammerheart Records.

Style of music and texts

The music is fast and very varied. According to Black Moon, the composition was different than with his older band Necrophobic; there orienting the music on the reef, with Dark Funeral music was orchestrated, closer to the arrangements in classical music. The song My Dark Desires contains a sample of Charles Manson. The sentence reads, " If I start murdering people, there would be none of you left" (German as: "If I would start killing people, none of you would be left. "). Shadows over Transylvania contains a sample of classical music. Both samples were, in addition to atmospheric reasons, also be used to compensate for backlash error. The texts are kept overall very apocalyptic and satanic.

Reviews

Alex Henderson of Allmusic described the songs as all equally fast, brutal and amelodisch and the screaming vocals as one-dimensional. The pieces are very similar and the publication fairly predictable.
