Dark Horse is the sixth solo album or the third solo studio album by George Harrison after the breakup of the Beatles. The album was released on 9 December 1974 in the U.S. and on 20 December 1974 in the UK. While it was at least up to # 4 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. and was awarded a gold record, it was not able to place in the UK album charts. In Germany the album reached number 45 of the charts.

Genesis

The recordings for Dark Horse took place in November 1973 to September 1974 and the period August. At this time George Harrison was also involved in the implementation of several musical and business projects. In addition, the separation of the couple Harrison fell into this phase. Pattie Harrison began a relationship with Eric Clapton, a close friend of George Harrison.

In March 1974, George Harrison produced the album Shankar Family and Friends in the A & M Studios in Los Angeles. Dark Horse
