Dark Moor

Dark Moor is a power metal band from Spain. Since its establishment in 1993, she released eight albums and was a new formation in 2003.

Band History

Dark Moor was founded in 1993 in Madrid by the two guitarists Enrik García and Javier Rubio and was characterized mainly in the early years by the coming and going of band members. Only in 1999 came with the entry of Elisa C. Martín and Albert Maroto, the Enrik García, Anan Kaddouri and Jorge Saez supplemented, stability in the composition of the band. Shortly after signing a record deal with Arise Records, the members decided their lineup to complement a keyboard player, who was found in Roberto Peña de Camus. In summer 1999, the debut album Shadowland, which a Spain tour as the opening act followed by Demons & Wizards, which earned the band notoriety appeared.

In August 2000, began in the New Sin Studios in Italy to record their second studio album The Hall of the Olden Dreams with producer Luigi Stefanini, who is a producer for most other projects of the band. Appearances at several festivals and participation in the Helloween tribute album The Keepers of Jericho - A Tribute To Helloween give the band a name outside Spain. Nevertheless, the EP The Fall Of Melnibone was published in June 2001 with a circulation of 1,500 copies exclusively for the Spanish market.

During the recording sessions for their third album The Gates Of Oblivion in the fall of 2001, the band signed to the label JVC a distribution agreement for the Asian region. During the subsequent tour keyboardist Roberto Peña de Camus left the band, so that Dark Moor had to complete the remaining performances with the guest musician Isabel García.

In August 2003, Dark Moor took the assistance of a string quartet on four acoustic tracks that appeared on the album " Between Light and Darkness". During the work on this album arose disagreements over the musical direction, whereupon frontwoman Elisa C. Martin, guitarist Albert Maroto and drummer Jorge Sáez got out of the band and the project Dreamaker founded. For the next album Enrik García and Anan Kaddouri found in Alfred Romero a new singer. The lineup was completed by Andy C. and José Garrido, the latter was gone shortly after the completion of the recording of Dark Moor. Since Anan Kaddouri left the band, is from 2004, first only Enrik García of the cast. Substitute for Kaddouri is Daniel Fernández. In this cast 2005 Beyond the Sea was born.

In early 2006, announced the contract with Arise Records Dark Moor. Despite this, the band began work on the next album, and in the summer of 2006, Andy C. got out due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Roberto Cappa. In November 2006, the band signed to the Italian label Scarlet Records, where in early 2007, the concept album was released Tarot.
