Darlene Love

Darlene Love ( born July 26, 1938 in Los Angeles, actually Darlene Wright) is an American singer and actress. She was known primarily as a performer of many songs to producer Phil Spector. In December 2010, she was accepted for her life's work into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Career

Darlene Wright gained her first singing experience as a member of the church choir in her hometown of Hawthorne. In 1957 they helped out as a vocalist with the Echoes, and later became the lead singer of the girl group The Blossoms. The trio released numerous singles, but usually without much success.
