Darren Hayes

Darren Stanley Hayes ( born May 8, 1972 in Brisbane ) is an Australian pop singer. He became known as a singer of the duo Savage Garden.

Career

Darren Hayes has become known as the frontman and singer of Australian pop duo Savage Garden, which have the record as the " Best Selling Australian Act Ever". At that time, he had hits with singles such as To the Moon & Back, I Knew I Loved You, Truly Madly Deeply and affirmation (which he presented at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney next to his colleague Daniel Jones ) worldwide.

In autumn 2001, the end of the tape was proclaimed. A short time later, Hayes began with his debut album spin on a solo career. The first two of a total of four singles, Insatiable and Strange Relationship, were the most successful songs from it.

Darren Hayes describes his first album as a mixture of R & B, pop and soul and gives as his musical influences the likes of Marvin Gaye and Michael Jackson.

In September 2004 his second solo album " The Tension and the Spark " was released. His first single, " Pop! Ular " is an electronic up-beat song that takes the music industry for a ride. The second single, " Darkness" on the other hand is a melancholy ballad. Since " The Tension and the Spark", also due to lack of promotion on the part of the record company, flopped, no further singles were released from it more. 2006 Hayes announced, to separate himself from his record company and to make future publications under its own label.

The first single from the third solo album " On the Verge of Something Wonderful" was released in July 2007. Followed on 20 August 2007 ( initially only in the UK and Australia), the album with the title " This Delicate Thing We've Made", which was recorded in the famous Mayfair Studios in North London. Produced Hayes has it with the help of, among others Justin Shave and Robert Conley. Another well-known name appears in the production of Guy Chambers. Darren Hayes wrote the song " Who Would Have Thought " with him.

Hayes inspired and system modeled on the 1980s retro-pop album was produced with the help of the Fairlight synthesizer which, inter alia, was used by Peter Gabriel. In autumn 2007, Darren Hayes was live with his album on " The Time Machine Tour " go. First, it brought the tour of his new home in the UK, among others, the prestigious " Royal Albert Hall " in London, and later to Australia.

2008 Hayes finally completed the work with " This Delicate film We've Made", a collection of animated videos of selected tracks from the album " This Delicate Thing We've Made". The singer worked here together with others with Richard Cullen (pixels Fing ) and Damien Hale.

On 24 June 2011 the first single of the album " Talk Talk Talk " was released. Under Sony / Universal finally released the album " Secret Codes and Battleships " was released in October.

Private

On 19 June 2006 he married his friend Richard Cullen in London. The two were at that time in two years a pair, but Hayes known only by the announcement of the marriage publicly to his homosexuality.
