Darren Helm

Darren Helm ( born January 21, 1987 in St. Andrews, Manitoba ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who stands at the Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Darren Helm began his career in 2003 in the junior league Manitoba Junior Hockey League, where he led the second team of the Selkirk Steelers with 71 points in 34 games. For the season 2004 /05 he moved to the high-class junior league WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers and had a solid first year with ten goals and 14 assists, whereupon the Detroit Red Wings chose him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the fifth round at position 132.

In the season 2005/06 helmet could increase significantly and led the Tigers Hat as the best scorer with 79 points scorer in 70 games in the first place the WHL during the regular season.
