Dart (rocketry)

As darts is called a free flight body as it is used as the payload of some sounding rockets. The Dart has no drive, but is very good aerodynamic shape. After the starting stage is burnt, the dart is separated from it and flies because of its inertia and its good aerodynamic shape on. Since he has a better aerodynamic shape than the starting stage, he reached a much greater height than this. Some sounding rockets were available in versions with or without darts. The versions without darts reached a height less than that with darts, but could carry a larger payload.
