Daryl K. (Doc) Seaman Trophy

The Daryl K. ( Doc ) Seaman Trophy is an ice hockey trophy in the Western Hockey League. The trophy has been awarded since the 1983/84 season annually to those WHL player who best combines good performance with a playful scholastic or academic success. The winner will also take part in the elections to CHL Scholastic Player of the Year since 1988.

The trophy is named after Daryl Seaman, who died in 2009 a Canadian businessman who was a pioneer and promoter in the field of higher education and the junior hockey and significantly contributed to that school education and professional junior hockey in Canada combined together. The originally assigned as Scholastic Player of the Year award was renamed in his honor in 1996 to the current name.
