Dasol, Pangasinan

Dasol is a town in the Philippine province of Pangasinan and lies on the South China Sea. In the 166.6 km ² partly hilly area in 2010 lived 26 991 people, resulting in a population density of 162 inhabitants per km ². Dasol was founded in 1911. Current mayor is Angelita O. Jimenez.

Economy

An important economic activity in the village is the production of salt with the help of solar salt works. In the salt marshes artificial sea water is directed to where it evaporates. After the salt is harvested. A total of 14 salt producers there are in Dasol. The complete Dasol Bay is managed. Further, the people live by agriculture and fishing. Despite watchable beaches hardly any tourists come into the church.
