Datia State

Datia ( Duttia ) was a princely state in the Bundelkhand region of British India. It was created in 1626 by a division of the inheritance of the Bundela Rajput of Orchha. The Raos of Datia 1820 took the title of Raja, Parichhat Singh in 1877 the title of Maharaja on. The initially small Principality was enlarged by conquest and fief of the Great Mughals of Delhi and in 1941 had an area of ​​2362 km ² and 183,000 inhabitants.
