Dauphins d'Épinal

The Dauphin d' Epinal (official name: Image Club d' Epinal ) is a French ice hockey team from Epinal, which was founded in 1997 and in the Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League, plays.

Play their home games out of the club in the 1200 -seat Patinoire de Poissompré.

History

The predecessor of the Image Club d' Epinal was founded in December 1906 and was named Sports d' hiver spin Aliens ( SHS) Today's Image Club d' Epinal was refounded in 1997. After the club was founded Epinal played immediately in the second division and reached to 2005 always the fourth or fifth place at the end of the regular season. In the 2002/03 season the club was relegated to Division 1 as champions of the class Ligue Magnus. In the same season they moved to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France. In the first season in the Ligue Magnus Epinal was only second to last. Once playoffs have been introduced to the regular season after the following season, the Dauphin missed this as Table clearly. However, in the season 2006/ 07 succeeded in surprising place in the final of the Coupe de France, where they lost the Ducs d' Angers with 1:4.

Until the 2007/ 08 season the team was able to establish itself among the Canadian player-coach Shawn Allard in the middle of the Ligue Magnus.
