Dautphe

The Dautphe is a 8.8 km long right tributary of the Lahn in western Central Hesse, Germany. It runs completely in the district of the municipality Dautphetal, which is named after her.

The Valley of Dautphe below the source curve is a side valley of the Lahn and part of the natural region Upper Lahn Valley.

Course

Headwaters

The Dautphe rises in the north of the Gladenbacher mountain country, in the northeast of the so-called Bottenhorner plateaus that form the height of center of gravity.

The two source streams, of which the western is the nominal, spring south of Holzhausen on the northwest edge of the 552 m high Daubhaus in the so-called Lord forest. Both flow in a northeasterly to northerly direction and unite south of Holzhausen and west of this place eponymous, 504 m high Hünstein.

In Holzhausen Dautpe the left takes on two other streams close to the source, from which comes the first of the south-western edge of the 520 m high Hilsberges and the second is from the north-northwest subsequent, well 540 m high Schlossberg. Both streams already unite just before its confluence with the Weinbach. Other tributaries flow added from both sides.

Middle reaches along the B 453

In Amelose where the route of the riverine henceforth B is reached 453, flows from the right immediately before the left side fed from the basement Kaltenbach from the direction Herzhausen. These rivers come, like all other right-hand tributaries below Holzhausen, of the so-called Damshäuser crests that attach themselves to the east Dautphetal.

In Mornshausen the Dautphe absorbs the inflowing from left Bolzebach whose source is located at the saddle between the striking, 520 m high Bolzeberg and the subsequent north, to 498 m high iron heads. Underflow
