Dave & Ansel Collins were a Jamaican reggae duo, which was an international success in the early 1970s.

Band History

Dave Barker began his music career in the '60s as a member of The Techniques and as a studio singer in Kingston, Jamaica. With the solo recording Shocks of Mighty he had up his first hit, the more recordings followed.

In 1971 he teamed up with keyboardist Ansel Collins and it was the single Double Barrel. After the early- reggae number with the simple Klaviertonfolge and Barkers Toasting and rhythmic organ sounds in Jamaica had become a big hit, it was also released in the UK and many other countries.
