Dave Bedwell

Dave Bedwell ( born August 28, 1928 in Romford, † 28 February 1999 Kingskerwell, Devon ) was a British racing cyclist.

In 1949, Dave Bedwell British champion in the road race in the amateurs. The following year he won the Grand Prix in Paris de l' Humanité, which was sponsored by the socialist newspaper L' Humanité.

1951 Bedwell professional drivers and won in his first year as a pro national titles in the road race. In the following years he was actively and successfully especially when racing in the UK - so he won in 1954, 1960 and 1961, the Tour of the Peaks -, was in 1961 a second time British champion in the road race and won a total of four stages of the Tour of Britain. He also competed at smaller races in France, where it reached top positions. In 1955 he took part in the Tour de France, but was after the third stage on. In 1959, he drove the International Peace race and finished ninth overall. In 1964 he ended his cycling career.
