Dave Dee

Dave Dee (born David John Harman, born December 17, 1941 in Salisbury, England; † January 9, 2009 in London) was a British singer, especially with the pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich second in the half of the 1960s was known.

Life

Dave Dee gave up his job as a police officer to earn 1961 with his friends as a musician his money. As a cadet he happened to pick up the car accident, by the American rock ' n' roll musician Eddie Cochran was killed. When Dave Dee and the Bostons played the friends from Salisbury in England, and occasionally in Hamburg ( Star Club, Top Ten Club ) and Cologne ( Storyville ). In 1964, she got a record deal and had as Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich 1964-1969 a whole string of hits, such as The Legend of Xanadu (1968).

1969 Dave Dee left the group to work solo. He brought out some singles and worked in Germany as a co -host of Beat - Club. In the 1980s, he founded his own music label Double D, but without finding the great success. He again worked with the former friends as well as with the Scottish pop band Marmalade. In the 1990s it came to the reunion of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, which still occurred until September 2008. In the 2000s he was regularly accompanied by the German rock 'n ' roll cover band Larry and the Handjive on solo tours. Dave Dee died on January 9, 2009 after several years of suffering prostate cancer in Kingston upon Thames, Greater London.
