Dave Morgan (racing driver)

Dave Morgan ( born August 7, 1944 in Shepton Mallet ) is a retired British racing driver and race engineer.

Dave Morgan began his racing career in 1965 on a Mini Cooper. In 1970 he moved to the British Formula 3 Championship. On a March 703 Morgan drove some strong races, but the season ended with a discordant note. After a collision with James Hunt in Crystal Palace it was closed due to dangerous driving for an entire season.

Only in 1972 he went into the Formula 2 European Championship and won with his private Brabham at the race at Mallory Park. After two years in the Formula Atlantic morning started in 1975 with the Grand Prix of Great Britain at Silverstone for the first and only time in Formula 1 With a factory Surtees TS16 he had an accident in the pouring rain, but was counted as 18.

After retiring as a racer Morgan worked as a race engineer. He oversaw the Belgian Eric van de Poele in Formula 3000 and Formula 1 Morgan also worked as Renninstrukteur in Mexico and worked as an engineer in the CART series.
