Dave Stryker

Dave Stryker (born 30 March 1957) is an American jazz guitarist.

Stryker grew up in Omaha (Nebraska ) and learned since the age of ten years, self-taught to play the guitar. In 1980 he came to New York City. Here he became in 1984 a member of the band of "Brother" Jack McDuff, with whom he toured in the next two years by the U.S., Canada and Europe. From 1986 to 1995 he was a member of the quintet of Stanley Turrentine, where he could also occur with Dizzy Gillespie and Freddie Hubbard.

In 1988 Stryker's first album under his own name; He is since 1990 the label Steeplechase Music under contract. He works with various own bands: the Stryker / Slagle band of The Blue to the Bone Band, the Shades Project and the Trio Mundo ( with Manolo Badrena and Andy McKee ).
