Davesco-Soragno

Davesco -Soragno is a district of Lugano in the district of Lugano Nord, in the district of Lugano, in the Swiss canton of Ticino. It consists of two districts in Cassaratetal at the foot of Monte Boglia. Until the incorporation into the city of Lugano in 2004 it formed an independent political community. The two villages were among 1'288 inhabitants in 2000.

History

Davesco was first mentioned in 1110 as curtis Avesco and Soragno 1335 as Soragnio. Finds from the Copper and Iron Age North Etruscan inscriptions and from the Roman period indicate an earlier settlement. Already in 1624 formed Davesco Soragno with a neighborhood. The villages lived by agriculture and funds from emigrants.
