David Alcaide

David Alcaide ( born December 14, 1978 in Málaga ) is a Spanish pool player.

Both 2001 and 2006, he was able to reach the knockout stages of the 9-Ball World Championship. In 2007 he reached the final of the World Pool Masters, but lost Thomas Engert. In 2009 he won the Italy Open in Castel Volturno his first Euro Tour event and made it a few months later at the 10-Ball World Cup 2009 semi-finals. He managed the same result in the 8-Ball World Cup 2011. Moreover, he 2011 ( Event 116) and 2012 ( Event 118 ) reached in each case at the Euro Tour tournaments in Treviso second place.

In 2006, he became the first Spaniard who represented the team at the European Mosconi Cup. However, he lost the deciding game there for the Europeans against Corey Deuel with 2:5, so Team USA in the overall standings drew level that reached them as the defending champion.

His nickname in the pool scene is El Matador.
