David Arellano

David Alfonso Arellano Mayorga ( born July 29, 1902 in Santiago, † May 3, 1927 in Valladolid, Spain) was a Chilean football player. He was said to be 1927, the inventor of the overhead kick. With the Chilean national team, he played six games.

Life

David Arellano was born on 29 July 1902. He was interested in, along with his brothers Francisco and Alberto, early for sports and especially football. Career

David Arellano made ​​his debut in 1919 at the age of 17 in the jersey of Magallanes. In the years 1920 and 1921, he won the Copa República Magallanes of the Asociación de Football de Santiago - in the absence of a national championship before 1933, the highest available titles. In 1924 he played for the first time in the Chilean national team.

In 1925 he was one of the ringleaders of a spin-off of Magallanes led to the establishment of CSD Colo -Colo on April 19, 1925. Arellano was the first captain and won with the club the league Metropolitana. With the Chilean National Team, he played a total of six matches in which he scored seven goals.
