David Azulai

David Azulai ( born May 5, 1954 in Meknes, Morocco) is an Israeli politician ( SHAs ) and, since 1996 deputy in the Knesset.

Life

At the age of nine years Azulai came to Israel. After school and military service, he trained as a teacher. His political career began in 1978 in the town meeting Acre, where he was until 1993. He was in the Regional Council of Nahal Iron / Wadi Ara (Hebrew נחל עירון / Arabic وادي عارة ), an Arab influence area northwest of the Green Line, selected in which he was first deputy chairman and later chairman in 1993. With the election in the 16th Knesset in 1996, he resigned this office. From 2 May 2001 to 23 May 2002, he was in the government of Ariel Sharon 's deputy interior minister of Israel. In this role, he was head of the Commission, which had set the status of the remaining after the operations Moses and Solomon remaining Falashas in Ethiopia.
