David B. Kaplan

David B. Kaplan ( born July 2, 1958) is an American theoretical physicist who deals with particle physics.

Kaplan studied from 1976 to 1980 at Stanford University and a Ph.D. in 1985 at Howard Georgi at Harvard University. Then he was at the Harvard Society of Fellows in 1988. From 1988 to 1993 he was professor at the University of California in San Diego. Since 1994 he is employed at the University of Washington since 2006 and director of the Institute for Nuclear Theory related ( INT).

His research interests include the strong interaction physics beyond the standard model, cosmology and particle physics and lattice field theory. He became known among other things with a formulation of chiral fermions on the lattice.
