David Barrufet

David Barrufet ( born June 4, 1970 in Barcelona, Spain ) is a former Spanish handball goalkeeper, who played in La Liga ASOBAL for FC Barcelona. From the IHF, he was named in the years 2001 and 2002 the best goalkeepers in the world.

Career

Since the age of eight Barrufet played handball. After six years at the Colegio SAFA Horta he moved to FC Barcelona for which he remained faithful until his Karrieende. After he initially played in the youth field, in 1988 he gave his debut in the first team. With Barça he won a variety of items, in particular seven hits in the Champions League stand out. In the summer of 2010, he finished his career.

For the Spanish national team Barrufet played 280 international matches and is thus most-capped player. With the national team he won the 2005 World Cup in Tunisia.
