David Brown (musician)

David Brown (* February 15, 1947; † 4 September 2000) was an American rock musician who was best known as the longtime bass player of Carlos Santana.

Career

From 1966 to 1971 and from 1973 to 1976 David Brown was a member of the backing band of Carlos Santana, with the recorded several albums during this period and also appeared at the legendary Woodstock Festival. He also appeared on Boz Scaggs ' albums Moments, to which he contributed two of his own songs in 1971, and Boz Scaggs & Band (1971) and My Time (1972 ) with.

David Brown died in 2000 from liver and kidney failure.
