David Browne

David Browne ( born May 19, 1960 in New Jersey, USA) is an American music journalist and author.

Life

Browne grew up in New Jersey and studied at New York University, which he left with a bachelor 's degree in journalism. Its subsidiary subject at the university was music.

Browne began his journalistic work as editor of the journal Music & Sound Output and was then a music critic for the New York Daily News newspaper. From 1990 to 2006 he was the chief critic of the weekly magazine Entertainment Weekly. Many reviews Browne wrote for other newspapers and magazines such as The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, The New Republic, and Time.

The critic and author Browne lives in Manhattan, New York. So far he has published four books.
