David City is a town of 2597 inhabitants located in Butler County, Nebraska. It is the administrative seat ( county seat ) of Butler County.

Location

David City is located about 95 kilometers west of Omaha, the largest city of the state of Nebraska and about 20 km south of the Platte River.

History

The place is now home to the David City, was selected after an election in Butler County in March 1873 as the future seat of the Administrative Region. The land on which now stands the courthouse of the city, belonged to this time Mrs. Phoebe David Miles, who presented the city the land for free. The town was so named in honor of your father, William David of Marion " David City".

Population

According to the census of 2000, there is David City from 2597 residents, 1082 households and 641 families. In 29.6 % of households are children. The average per capita income in the city is located at 16550 U.S. dollars. Infrastructure

In the city there are three schools: St. Thomas Aquinas middle and high school and St. Mary 's Catholic grade schools, two Catholic schools, as well as the David City Public School. In the south of the city, the Butler County Health Care Center, a small hospital with 20 beds located. There is also a medical center named Butler County Clinic, PC and two nursing homes: St. Joseph 's Villa and David Place. A few hundred meters south of the town there is a small airfield with a paved runway, the Bongers Sky Ranch Airfield, as well as a small golf course.
