David Degen
David Degen ( 2007)
David Degen ( * February 15, 1983 in Liestal ) is a Swiss football player with FC Basel, where his twin brother Philipp Degen is under contract. David Degen and his brother, a member of the Swiss national team and was in the squad for the 2006 World Cup.
Career
Degen played from 2003 to 2006 for FC Basel in the Swiss Super League, but where he did not much used. He had a contract until 2007, but he broke up prematurely. Its position in Basel was the right midfield but can also play as a hanging tip by storm.
In July 2006 he signed a contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2009. On 14 October 2006, he ran against VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga for the first time on and immediately scored his first goal. However, it also subsequently failed him to earn a regular place in the team.
On 10 May 2007 sword of head coach Jos Luhukay was removed from the first team and relegated to the amateurs. Luhukay justified its decision by saying that he " will not tolerate such a character " could. Overall Degen played 18 Bundesliga games for the " foal ", in which he scored two goals.
The Swiss international has been on loan for the season 2007/ 08 to his former club FC Basel. After the end of the loan sword moved in August 2008 free transfer to the BSC Young Boys. In the Bernese David Degen received after a difficult start time in over 100 games much match practice and showed good performance.
For the season 2012/13 moved to FC Basel sword. He signed a three -year contract until 30 June 2015. At the end of the 2012/13 season was sword with FC Basel Swiss Champion During the long season with a total of 76 games ( 36 in Super League, six in the Swiss Cup, twenty in the Champions League and Europa League, including 14 test matches ) Degen had a total of 58 missions.
