David Denby

David Denby ( born 1943 ) is an American writer who is best known for his work as a film critic.

Life

David Denby studied at Columbia College and received his degree in 1965. He then attended Columbia Journalism School, where he graduated in 1966.

Denby worked for newspapers such as The Atlantic Monthly and The Boston Phoenix. Although already established as a journalist was David Denby in 1991 to Columbia University to attend some courses there. He currently writes for the New Yorker magazine. He is also the author of several books.

David Denby is married to the novelist Cathleen Schine, with whom he has two sons. The family lives in Manhattan.
