David Franzoni

David Harold Franzoni ( born March 4, 1947 in Vermont) is an American screenwriter and film producer.

Life

David Harold Franzoni grew up in Vermont and after he studied geology and paleontology at the University of Vermont, he left after only one year, the Graduate School, flew to Berlin, where he bought a motorcycle and then traveled through Europe and the Middle East.

When he lived in Bagdag, he bought the novel Those About to Die by Daniel P. Mannix, who has inspired him in the 1970s to the film Gladiator. While living in Rome, he researched a possible story and put them Steven Spielberg during the filming to Amistad before. Then the film with a budget of almost 100 million U.S. dollars from Universal Studios and DreamWorks SKG was filmed and directed by Ridley Scott. Since he worked as a producer, he was not nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, but also excellent for Best Film.
