David Glass (sociologist)

David Victor Glass ( born January 2, 1911 in London, † 23 September 1978) was a British sociologist. He became known for his research on social mobility. In German language, he published the standard work Social stratification and social mobility together with René König.

Glass received his academic education at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he since 1932 as a researcher and from 1948 was then a professor of sociology.

Glass was married to the city sociologist Ruth Glass.
