David Graf

David Graf ( born April 16, 1950 in Lancaster, Ohio; † April 7, 2001 in Phoenix, Arizona) was an American film actor.

Graf, the graduate of Lancaster High School ( 1968) and Otterbein University ( 1972) was, this graduated as a trained theater director. After three years in which Earl had visited the Ohio State University, in 1975 he decided to become an actor. His film debut was in 1981 in an episode of the television series The Dukes of Hazzard.

He became known in the U.S. as well as in Europe from 1984 through the role of the crazy police Tackleberry in the Police Academy film series. He played the same role in all seven parts to 1994 as well as in a guest role in the television series of the same name.

In 1985 he married eight years younger actress Kathryn Graf, with whom he had two sons. Like his grandfather and his father had also Graf heart problems. At the same age as his two predecessors he died - nine days before his 51st birthday - a heart attack.
